Dufferin OPP worked diligently throughout the Labour Day Long Weekend to enhance road safety and protect residents and visitors across Dufferin County.
Between September 4 and September 7, officers conducted proactive traffic enforcement initiatives targeting the OPP’s “Big Four” contributing factors in serious and fatal collisions: aggressive driving, impaired driving, distracted driving, and lack of seatbelt use.
During the campaign, Dufferin OPP laid 376 traffic-related charges, including:
• Speeding charges: 226
• Stunt driving/racing charges: 5
• Impaired driving charges: 5
• Seatbelt charges: 37
• Other Highway Traffic Act charges: 103
