The Town of Caledon is celebrating the graduation of its largest-ever group of full-time firefighters.
A total of 24 recruits officially completed training with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services on Friday, May 1st, following more than 600 hours of intensive preparation over four months.
The training included live fire exercises, survival scenarios, rapid intervention drills, and search-and-rescue operations in zero-visibility conditions, all carried out during harsh winter weather.
The class, with an average age of 31, brings a wide range of experience in firefighting, emergency medical services, trades, and public service, with about half of the recruits coming from within the community.
Officials say the new firefighters are well-equipped to respond to emergencies and help keep residents safe as they begin their careers serving Caledon.
