On April 19th, at about 11:30 p.m, officers conducted a traffic stop on Airport Road in Mono after observing a commercial vehicle travelling at 121 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. During the stop, officers conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection.
As a result of the investigation, a total of 11 Provincial Offence Notices were issued.
Charges included:

Speeding
- Exceeding 13 hours of driving time in a day

Failure to accurately complete a daily inspection report

And , Driving a commercial vehicle without an air brake endorsement
The OPP reminds all commercial motor vehicle operators that compliance with traffic laws and regulations is essential to ensure the safety of all road users. Due to their size and weight, commercial motor vehicles require greater stopping distances and have larger blind spots. Drivers are reminded to ensure they are properly licensed, adhere to hours-of-service regulations, and complete accurate daily inspections to help prevent collisions.
