As the last long weekend of the summer approaches, OPP will be out in the community to help ensure the safety of residents and visitors on our roadways, trails, and waterways.
From September 4 to September 7, 2026, OPP members will join officers from across the province as part of a provincial traffic safety initiative focused on the “Big Four”: impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding, and seatbelt use.
With many people travelling to and from their weekend destinations, motorists should expect increased traffic volumes. Drivers are reminded to remain patient, courteous, and focused on the road at all times.
Let’s make the end of summer and the start of the school year a safe and happy one for everyone.
