Dufferin OPP has seized numerous firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and a knife following multiple calls to a property in Melancthon.
On August 9th at 3pm officers were dispatched to the area of Highway 10 in Melancthon after receiving numerous calls regarding the unsafe discharge of multiple firearms.
Officers arrived at a vacant property and located five individuals. Two of the individuals admitted to discharging the firearms. As part of the investigation, officers spoke with the complainants, who reported hearing numerous gunshots fired in their direction and described hearing bullets whistling overhead.
Through the investigation, Dufferin OPP identified all involved parties at the property and seized four firearms and all associated ammunition.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, officers also attended a residence in Brampton, where they seized an additional five firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, numerous magazines, and a knife.
A 31-year-old male and 32-year-old female from Brampton have both been charged.
