Dufferin OPP has laid several charges following an investigation involving a motorcyclist who fled from police during a traffic stop.
On July 16th at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers were conducting proactive traffic enforcement in the area of County Road 11 and Broadway in Orangeville when they observed a group of three motorcycles travelling together in a manner that drew their attention.
An officer initiated a traffic stop just west of Orangeville in East Garafraxa. While two of the motorcycles stopped as directed, the third fled the scene at an estimated speed of approximately 200 km/h.
As officers continued their investigation at the roadside, the same motorcycle returned and again passed the scene at a very high rate of speed before leaving the area.
Officers identified the driver, who turned himself into police on July 21,th.
A 23-year-old male from Georgetown is facing numerous charges.
