Georgian College has announced its second cohort of Schulich Builders Scholarship winners, recognizing 10 students pursuing skilled trades programs.
Among this year’s recipients are Jordan Young and Liam Dinatale, both from Orangeville. Young is enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technician program at the Barrie Campus, while Dinatale is studying Plumbing Techniques at the Robbert Hartog Midland Campus.
“We are proud to support students in the skilled trades and open doors to this meaningful career path,” says Judy Schulich, Director of The Schulich Foundation. “Behind every home built and every community strengthened are the tradespeople who make it possible. Today, the shortage of these skilled workers is holding Canada back — and that’s why investing in young people who choose this path is one of the most impactful ways we can build a stronger, more prosperous country for all.”
The Schulich Builders Scholarships, funded by The Schulich Foundation, award up to $40,000 for two-year programs and $20,000 for one-year certificates. The initiative supports training for in-demand trades across Canada.
