The Alpha Dogs based out of Humberview Secondary School in Bolton win awards

The Alpha Dogs, Caledon’s only FIRST Robotics Competition team, based out of Humberview Secondary School, are excited for this year’s FIRST Robotics season, Rebuilt. The team recently introduced their 2026 season robot, Moto Moto.  Their first competition of the season took them to the Durham College event in mid-March. The team spent January and February designing and prototyping different intake and shooting mechanisms for the robot.  They finally decided on a high-capacity design with a fast shooter to launch the many collected balls quickly and a turret for increased accuracy.  This time was well spent as the team went undefeated through the qualification rounds at Durham and went on to win the tournament after the playoffs.  They also received the Excellence in Engineering award for the accuracy of our shooter and the unique and effective design of the robot.
