On February 17th, just after midnight, Dufferin OPP A Platoon officers were conducting a RIDE spot check in the area of Owen Sound Street when they spotted a black SUV allegedly attempting to evade the checkpoint. Officers located the vehicle moments later. Upon conducting the traffic stop, officers discovered drug paraphernalia, which led to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.
A 48-year-old female from Shelburne, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
Additionally, a 47-year-old male from Shelburne and a 49-year-old male from Mono were released at the scene, both receiving numerous Provincial Offences Notices.
Dufferin OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead if consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, taxi, rideshare service, public transit, or arrange to stay overnight.
