The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with support of the Town of Caledon, were successful in the receipt of the 2024/25 Ontario Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Grant Program offered by the Ministry of the Solicitor General as part of the Ontario Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy.
As announced in the Spring 2025, the Caledon OPP were recipients of a grant totalling just over $254,000 to assist in the implementation of CCTV cameras across Caledon. The participation of Caledon OPP and the Town of Caledon in this grant reflects our commitment to proactive crime prevention, effective law enforcement, and fostering a thriving, secure environment for residents and businesses.
Over the next few weeks, the installation of the CCTV cameras will occur across Caledon and will be fully operational by the end of November. These cameras are intended solely for investigative purposes, and to ensure transparency, all camera locations will be clearly marked with signage to inform the public that the area is under surveillance.
