The Town of Caledon has just received a $15.2 million investment from Ontario’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program (MHIP) to help execute a road project that will enable almost 12,000 new housing units in west Caledon. The funding is part of the Housing-Enabling Core Servicing (HECS) stream of the MHIP.
The project will reconfigure the current interchange at Hurontario St. and Highway 410 in west Caledon to facilitate a new four lane arterial road at Tim Manley Ave. and Valleywood, ensuring safer and faster access to that community, as well as facilitating new development. The project will also future proof the intersection as traffic volumes change with the construction of Hwy 413. The MHIP-HECS grant will cover 50% of the total project. Work on the project has already begun and completion is expected in 2027.
