On Monday August 4th, OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit aided in the recovery of the bodies of the two missing people who were reported to have been swimming at Burleigh Falls in Stony Lake near Peterborough on August 3rd. One individual fell in from the shoreline and appeared to be in distress. Witnesses entered the water to assist resulting in a second individual also being reported as missing. Officers along with Fire Rescue attended and conducted a search of the water as well as the surrounding area but were unsuccessful in locating them. A 24-year-old male from Caledon and a 26-year-old male from Brampton have both been pronounced as deceased.
