OPP officers were out across Ontario leading up to and during CanadaDay enforcing safety equipment laws that keep everyone safe. A summary of charges laid between June 27 and July 6 in OPP jurisdictions includes 1,773 seatbelt violations; 121 lifejacket infractions and 41 helmet-related charges. These numbers are more than statistics. They’re reminders of the risks that come with poor choices behind the wheel or on the water.
